Jason has practiced continuously as a Barrister since 1993. He has extensive experience in Regulatory and Criminal matters, which has led to him being consulted both by public bodies within the UK and by Governments within the Commonwealth.
He has extensive experience of defending cases brought by Public Bodies and Regulatory Prosecutors.
He is an editor of Halsbury’s Laws.
His experience spans all levels of the Court system. He has regularly appeared before the Higher Courts and his cases are frequently cited in the Law Reports.

- Successfully defended a series of Judicial Review applications on behalf of a well-known public transport provider in relation to its prosecution policies.
- Successfully enforced a Police Order against a local councillor in the High Court and obtained full legal costs for the police force concerned.
- Negotiated tooth-fishing quotas relating to the seas around the Falkland Islands for overseas companies registered under flags of convenience.
- Successfully appealed penalties for two individuals accused of arson relating to industrial plant hire.
- Secured full restitution for an owner of fish and chip shops in the aftermath of a business sale that went wrong.
- Successfully represented numerous individuals who were adversely affected by high street banks’ PPI mis-selling.
- Provided informal advice in sentencing matters to several Commonwealth jurisdictions.
- Frequently advised and appeared for individuals in “fitness to practice” type scenarios instigated by their professional regulators.
- Frequently appeared for individuals and companies charged with Environmental infractions.
- Extensively challenged Local Authority decisions through the Courts.
